CDC recommends pregnant people receive a COVID-19 vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that pregnant people should get a COVID-19 vaccine, stated Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky.

Dr. Walensky’s comment comes after a new study observed no safety concerns in a large group of pregnant people who were administered the vaccine during the third trimester, and no safety concerns for their babies.

Dr. Walensky encouraged people to talk to their doctors or primary care providers to as certain the best for them and for their baby. Preliminary findings from CDC scientists published in the New England Journal of Medicine determined that the Pfizer and Modernam RNA COVID-19 vaccines do not seem to present any serious risk during pregnancy… (CNN, April 24, 2021)
